At E-PROPS, each model is tested during 2/3 years, in order to ensure a high reliability.

For example, a 2000 hours test on vibrations bench is made on a set of blade + hub. Many flights hours are also made before to propose this model on the market.

The tests are progressing well and performances meets expectations.

 

Those months (spring and summer 2018), aging tests in real extrem flying conditions are currently going on.

Please note : a variable pitch propeller does not increase performances for all aircraft.

    - for aircraft with a max speed less than 200 km/h, a variable pitch propeller does not give better performances than a good ground adjustable pitch propeller

    - between 200 and 250 km/h, the gain is small, and in certain extreme cases only

    - the gain becomes interesting from a max speed higher than 250 km/h

 

The design department of the E-PROPS company does not recommend a variable pitch propeller for about 80% of the ultralights park. This type of propeller is very expensive, heavy and complex, without giving better performances in comparison with a good ground adjustable pitch propeller in most cases.
